she must admit she did like him,
very much;
and perhaps she did come to love him at some point too.

and she knew she would never get to feel something like that for anybody else,
ever,
again.

it’s just that she never imagined he’d think of her like that,
all the while,
until the end;
and it pained her knowing.

perhaps both of them had a lot to sort out in each of their own lives that time,
perhaps whatever they shared wasn’t that important for him as it was for her,
perhaps whatever happened was supposed to happen, after all.

and maybe,
in their story’s entirety,
perhaps it was all just her,

all just her.
