She closed her eyes and allowed the universe to comfort her.
There was solace in not seeing, she realized.
And there was a certain peace to it.

She allowed all the pain and the sadness to convulse through her.
She did not know where they all came from.
She did not know why they always came for her.

She kept her eyes closed and felt a river on her cheek.
At least there was warmth where they flowed.
At least there may have been some warmth left still, where they came from.
